Immersal tech made it possible to create large scale outdoor experiences
Declan:
I've been experimenting with Immersal for quite a while. I spent a large amount of time experimenting with different AR and VR technologies. And I was looking at ways of anchoring and bringing digital content into the real world. And that brought me to Immersal which I discovered while looking for a way of easily anchoring content into the real world.
I played with some different SDKs and other technologies, but they didn't allow me necessarily to place things at such a large scale and have it in the same position and have someone coming back to that.
Theo:
And what made us stick with Immersal specifically was that it was so easy to use. If you're not specifically, technically, able to understand this stuff, you don't have to know how it works. The ability to do scans is very simple and user friendly. Pretty much anyone can do it. And learning that whole process was super duper easy and we just sort of extended that to the rest of our workflow.
Declan:
Yes, one of the original reasons that I was looking at using it, is multiplayer games. So I think the multiplayer games is a really interesting use of Immersal's technology. So when I did use it, we scanned a lane (narrow road) and we were digitally playing something sort of like paintball in a laneway, and we were using the Immersal technology to be able to locate the other players within the space. So I'm very excited to see what sort of multiplayer games can be made using Immersal technology.
